Newcastle has acquired new owners and is expected to spend money on new acquisitions as early as January. Now Spanish El Nacional reports that the club has set its sights on recruiting Toni Kroos, 31, from Real Madrid, who is said to top the new owners’ wish list.
According to the information, Newcastle must be ready to pay 30 million euros, almost 300 million kronor, to buy the German from “Los Blancos”. However, Kroos has a contract that extends to the summer of 2023, and it is unclear whether Real Madrid will agree to sell the midfield star as early as January.
Toni Kroos joined Real Madrid from Bayern Munich for the 2014/2015 season. In total, the 31-year-old has made 325 appearances in the Real jersey and was noted for 22 goals and 80 assists.
