Paulo Fonseca to replace Dean Smith at Villa?
Aston Villa have got a rough start to the season. After ten rounds, the team is in 15th place in the Premier League with only ten recorded points – and now coach Dean Smith is said to be hanging loose.
The Daily Mail reports that Aston Villa are interested in signing former Roma coach Paulo Fonseca as a replacement for Smith. According to the information, an informal contact has been made with the Portuguese, who was previously rumored to be relevant to take over both Newcastle and Tottenham.
Aston Villa are said to want to make a change in the coaching position before the meeting with Brighton after the upcoming national team break.
In addition to Roma, Paulo Fonseca has previously coached clubs such as Porto and Shakhtar Donetsk.
